Workshop science materials
The 9 science teacher trainers of the Teacher Training Centres (TTC) of Kratie, Stung Treng and Preah Vihear practiced using science experiment materials during an interactive workshop on 27 and 28 October 2015 in Preah Vihear. This workshop was organised following their request.
The 3 TTCs in the past have received science materials, but the teacher trainers were not sure how some of those materials have to be used.

Link to the curriculum
The facilitators of the workshop, science experts from the National Institute of Education (NIE) Phnom Penh, helped to link the materials in their cupboards to actual lessons in the TTC curriculum and the curriculum for primary education. The participants enjoyed being able to use materials like the volt meter, the different measuring beakers, the microscope and practice with chemistry experiments.

Cupboards
In some PTTCs materials are not used because people are afraid that it gets lost or damaged. Mr Seng, one of the facilitators of NIE said in reply: “Don't worry if you try it and then damage it. It is better than to keep it in a cupboard, then it will not be used and it gets damaged anyway. Then you haven’t learned at all. One of the teacher trainers from PTTC Kratie said “I know we have these materials in our cupboard for a long time but now I have learnt using it, and when I practice it, it becomes much more understandable.”
